About Caregiver Pilot Programs

Live-in caregivers in Canada can pursue two new caregiver pilot programs: the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot. These 5-year programs aim to help caregivers gain work experience and qualify for Canadian permanent residence. Unlike the previous Live-In Caregiver Program, LMIA is not required, but occupation restrictions apply.
